The Zhijin Pingyuan Ancient Town project covers a planned land area of 1.36 million square meters, with a total construction area of 265,000 square meters. The project adopts an overall spatial structure characterized by "one core, one street, one ring, one belt, five gateways along two axes, six major cultural spaces, and two key service function zones." It integrates cultural elements with tourism, leisure and vacation activities, commerce, and industry to create a comprehensive platform that combines culture, tourism, commerce, and industry, and is committed to becoming a renowned tourist destination and distribution hub.

The Pingyuan Ancient Town project is divided into Phase I and Phase II, with a planned total investment of 4 billion yuan. Phase I has now been largely completed, with an investment of approximately 2.6 billion yuan already spent, and Phase II is currently under development. Regarding Phase I: several tourism-related facilities and ecological environment enhancement and landscape projects have been completed, including the Shijing Zijin Commercial Area A, the Confucian Temple, Jueyuan Monastery, Caishen Mountain, Dinggong Temple, the National Academy, Shanli Renjia (Rural Homes), and the North-South Service Areas. The total construction area will be 100,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately 1 billion yuan. Preliminary work has been largely completed, and construction has now commenced. The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation by 2026.

In the future, Pingyuan Ancient Town will focus on the integration of culture and tourism, adhering to the principle of using culture to promote tourism and leveraging tourism to highlight cultural heritage. By meticulously crafting high-quality products, the town will carry forward its cultural traditions without being confined by convention—building upon the past yet avoiding being trapped by it. With a spirit of daring to break new ground and forge ahead, Pingyuan Ancient Town will seamlessly integrate into the broader landscape of tourism development in Guizhou and Bijie. The successful construction and operation of Pingyuan Ancient Town will have a significant impact on enhancing Zhijin County’s tourism image, improving its tourism service infrastructure, preserving and promoting local culture, creating employment opportunities, boosting local tax revenues, and driving regional economic growth—thus contributing to the high-quality, industrialized development of Guizhou’s tourism sector!
