Cultural and Tourism Study Tours

Under the careful coordination of the County Bureau of Culture and Publicity, the “First Primary School of Zhijin County’s Off-Campus Practice Teaching Base for Traditional Culture” has been established at the Confucian Temple in Pingyuan Ancient Town. A study-and-travel route that connects the cultural heritage of sages and scholars, intangible cultural heritage skills, and the exemplary character of famous figures is now paving the way for children’s immersive growth.

The Wenmiao Initiation: Knocking on the Door of a Thousand-Year Cultural Heritage

The starting point of our study tour is nestled deep within the ancient town’s Confucian Temple. Passing through the marble archway inscribed with “Gate of Ritual” and “Path of Righteousness,” we see the three-arch stone bridge over the Pan Pool reflecting the light of the sky. The plaque, inscribed by a prodigy at the age of twelve, glows warmly in the sunlight.

Exploring Batik Art: The Intangible Cultural Heritage Code at Your Fingertips

Starting from the Confucius Temple, the path paved with bluish-gray stones leads students into the Zhicheng Batik and Embroidery Experience Workshop. As they push open the door, the indigo dye in the ceramic vats glows faintly. On the shelves, copper wax knives—some so small they can draw lines as fine as silk threads—make even a first-time user’s hand tremble slightly. The blue-and-white patterns on the fabric may be crooked and uneven at first, yet they hold the purest form of creative sincerity.

Tracing the Footsteps of the Virtuous: The Spiritual Legacy from Famous Gardens to Public Ancestral Halls

Carrying their still-wet batik artworks, the study tour group entered the Garden of Celebrities. Twenty-six granite sculptures stood quietly, their figures—representing both literary and martial luminaries, with Ding Baozhen as their prime example—seemed to be gazing intently at the younger generations. The study tour culminated at the Ding Gong Temple, with its elegant blue bricks and dark-tiled roofs. In the main hall, the plaque reading “Diligent Governance for the People” complemented the historical exhibits from the Pingyuan Incident; before the display case of family letters in the right side hall, the words “Integrity Passed Down Through Generations” seemed to leap off the page with profound force. “The story of Ding Gong’s execution of An Dehai embodies the Chinese people’s unwavering integrity and moral rectitude.”

Cultural Roots: A Legacy That Goes Beyond the Journey

Today, the doors of Zhi Cheng Batik and the Shenshan Market Handcraft Workshop are always open to study-and-experience groups. Here, children can fully immerse themselves in the traditional process of “wax melting—pattern drawing—dyeing—wax removal,” transforming the plants and flowers from the Hundred Flowers Garden of Celebrities and the flying eaves of the Ding Gong Temple into vibrant scenes on fabric.
