The Pingyuan Ancient Town scenic area has not yet started producing cultural and creative products. However, the area has introduced two workshops: a Zhi Cheng batik and embroidery experience studio, and a handmade crafts market in the deep mountains. Visitors can head to these two shops to select cultural and creative items.

The Zhi Cheng Wax-Dyeing and Embroidery Exhibition Hall in Zhijin County symbolizes the inheritance carried on through our fingertips. The completion of this exhibition hall has enabled the protection, preservation, and development of our county’s intangible cultural heritage, making it a high-quality, reliable base for its safeguarding.
The exhibition hall covers a total area of approximately 258 square meters. The first floor is primarily designed as an exhibition space and an Instagram-worthy photo spot, spanning about 123 square meters. It focuses on promoting the intangible cultural heritage of Zhijin, with key product categories including ethnic handicrafts, tourist souvenirs, cultural and creative products, interior decorations for traditional ethnic dwellings, and custom-made items.
II. Mountain Market
The Yiwen China Handcraft Workshop team takes the cultural elements and iconic landscapes of Zhijin County, its time-honored intangible cultural heritage techniques, and the Xiu Meng Workshop—along with the Bijie City’s cultural and tourism routes—as the spatial framework. Using the IP stories of Zhijin County’s artisans and showcasing Zhijin’s distinctive cultural and creative tourism products as the core content, the team has established a digital industrial base that brings together products, artisans, and narratives. The initiative aims to start from Zhijin, leveraging the platform to integrate the entire value chain—from order placement and design to production and sales—thereby boosting the development of Zhijin County’s “fingertip industries” and positioning Zhijin as a key hub for cultural and tourism distribution in Bijie.
Within the exhibition area, sachets, tea bags, handbags, clothing, cushions, and footwear—each infused with contemporary design—convey the artistic essence of batik: simplicity, aesthetic beauty, and meticulous craftsmanship. In the indigo-dyeing zone, we’re specially offering a hands-on “DIY Indigo-Dyed Canvas Shoes” experience: Customers can select batik patterns on-site, use copper knives to draw their chosen designs onto the shoe surface, and under the guidance of our dyeing artisans, learn the technique of wax-resist dyeing and create their very own one-of-a-kind trendy indigo-dyed canvas shoes.
The design team at Yiwen Chinese Handicraft Workshop has distilled, color-matched, and redesigned traditional Guizhou ethnic embroidery motifs. After vectorizing and digitizing these designs, they have been incorporated into the China National Ethnographic Pattern Database. In this way, the cultural stories of ethnic groups—passed down orally through generations in the mountains—are preserved and handed down, ensuring that the meanings and uses behind each old embroidery pattern are permanently recorded. Business and office supplies, accessories, luggage, dolls, small appliances, and home furnishings infused with ethnic aesthetic and cultural elements from regions such as Zijing County in Guizhou offer a dazzling array of products, embodying the design philosophy of "empowering contemporary life with ethnic aesthetics" and reflecting the enduring vitality and adaptability of Guizhou’s ethnic cultures.
The cultural and creative zone features a special DIY hot-stamping experience, where consumers can choose from a variety of national-style illustrations, trendy Chinese-character designs, and ethnic aesthetic patterns on the spot and personally try out hot-stamping techniques to create their very own “DIY” national-style T-shirts and canvas bags.
