Ticket Policy
After multiple rounds of negotiations with the People's Government of Zhijin County in 2016, an investment promotion agreement was signed, establishing the investment project in Zhijin County—Pingyuan Ancient Town (formerly the eastern area of the ancient city). The agreement stipulates that Guizhou Zhijin Ancient City Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. will serve as the project company and undertake the project’s construction, operation, management, and maintenance through a wholly-owned investment approach. The agreement also explicitly grants the investor, authorized by the People's Government of Zhijin County, the exclusive franchise for publicly beneficial projects (including the right to collect admission fees), with a franchise term of 48.3 years.
Based on the preliminary construction and operational plans, Guizhou Zhijin Ancient City Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd. applied to the Zhijin Development and Reform Bureau in 2020 for the preparation of a report on ticket pricing for Pingyuan Ancient Town. On January 1, 2021, the Zhijin Development and Reform Bureau issued its approval document No. Zhifagai Fu [2021] No. 01 (see the approval document).
Due to the fact that the core main thoroughfare and certain areas within the project zone have not yet been completed because of ongoing government expropriation and demolition work, construction cannot proceed, and the scenic area cannot achieve closed-loop operations. Therefore, admission tickets for the scenic area remain free for now. Once the scenic area achieves closed-loop operations in the future, ticket fees will be collected in accordance with the fee schedule approved in the report.
