Cultural and creative products
The Pingyuan Ancient Town scenic area has not yet started producing cultural and creative products. However, the area has introduced two workshops: a Zhi Cheng batik and embroidery experience studio, and a handmade crafts market in the deep mountains. Visitors can head to these two shops to select cultural and creative items.
Agricultural and Specialty Products
The Pingyuan Ancient Town scenic area has introduced the “Hundred Counties, Hundred Products to Support Farmers” initiative by establishing the Zhijin Brand Pavilion—a online and offline sales platform specially created by Zhijin Agricultural Investment Group for the county’s specialty agricultural products. Since partnering with Ant Group for mutual assistance, Ant Group has actively leveraged the capabilities of its Alipay digital platform. Through the “Hundred Counties, Hundred Products to Support Farmers” project, Ant Group has allocated traffic resources and continuously supported the development of local specialty brands in Zhijin County. To date, more than 40 types of Zhijin’s specialty agricultural products have been sold across China, and Zhijin’s specialty agricultural products continue to gain widespread recognition and popularity online.
From July 3 to 4, 2023, the World City Brand Conference and the "Great Wall Award—Excellent Cultural and Tourism Brands" Gala were grandly held at City of Dreams—MGM Macau in Cotai, Macao, China. The conference was themed “Cities, Brands, Mutual Learning, and the Future,” and comprised a series of events including the Opening Ceremony of the World City Brand Conference, a Main Forum, four Thematic Forums, and the "Great Wall Award—Excellent Cultural and Tourism Brands" Gala.
On the evening of May 19, 2023, the Bijie Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio and Television, and Tourism, together with the People's Government of Zhijin County, hosted a sub-event for the 2023 “May 19 China Tourism Day” at the Yeren Valley Square in Pingyuan Ancient Town, Zhijin. An Ding, member of the Standing Committee of the Zhijin County Party Committee and Vice County Mayor, attended the event and delivered a speech. Leading officials from the county’s Bureau of Culture, Radio and Television, and Tourism, as well as heads of A-level scenic areas, travel agencies, homestays, and other tourism-related enterprises, all participated in the event.
As the laws of nature bring the gradual return of springtime and all things begin to renew, on February 9, 2023, the annual meeting for 2023 of Zhijin Ancient City Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd. was successfully held at the Zhijin Hotel in Pingyuan Ancient Town. Attending the meeting were the chairman and general manager of Zhijin Ancient City Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd., heads of various departments, and all employees. Also present in person were Liu Longling, chairman of Shanheyuan Enterprise Group, and Chen Kaiyong, general manager of the group. This was a joyous and exciting occasion.
The 13th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce opened in Beijing on December 11. Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Also attending the opening ceremony were Shi Taifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee; Liu He, Vice Premier of the State Council, member of the Party Leadership Group, and Director of the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Leading Group; Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation; and Ma Biao, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
To thoroughly implement the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection of Guizhou Province, as well as the guiding instructions and directives he gave to Guizhou and Bijie, and to carry out the Plan for Promoting National Fitness, celebrate the successful designation of Zhijin Cave as a national 5A-level tourist attraction, and boost the integrated development of sports and tourism across the county, the "Floral Bijie—Cave Paradise Zhijin" Ancient Town Happy Glow Run event was successfully concluded on the evening of July 21!
On July 16, the Zhijin Cave Scenic Area was officially designated as a National 5A-level Tourist Attraction by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, earning it the distinction of being Guizhou Province’s 9th National 5A-level scenic area and Bijie City’s 2nd National 5A-level scenic area. The press conference announcing the successful designation of the Zhijin Cave Scenic Area as a National 5A-level Tourist Attraction was held at the Zhijin Pingyuan Ancient Town·Zhijin Hotel.
